  • Features Schuette® blackout curtain with eyelets: Extremely darkening and absolutely opaque blackout curtain scarf; High light protection & improved room acoustics (sound insulation & noise reduction); Energy-saving thermal effect (reduced heat and cold exchange at the window); Hand-sewn locally with the highest level of craftsmanship in our own family manufactory especially for you.
  • Measuring instructions: Height = Please measure the curtain height from the floor to the top edge of the curtain pole and add at least 4 cm so that the curtain at least slightly touches the floor. Width = (width to be covered) x 2. Then divide the resulting measurement by the required number of shawls; all shawl curtain dimensions offered are width x height.
  • Installation: Schuette® eyelets made of stainless metal; inner diameter of the eyelets = 4 cm. Distance between first and last eyelet and side edge approx. 3 cm. Minimum distance from the top edge of the curtain rod to the ceiling 3 cm. Distance from highest point of eyelet inside to upper edge of curtain = 2.0 cm. The eyelets are set by us and we achieve even folds without the eyelets (or running rings) slipping. The strength of the eyelets is reinforced by an invisible fabric tape running inside the curtain, which increases the durability of the curtain.

FAQ / Frequently Asked Questions

Schuette® Custom-made Blackout curtain with eyelets ● Century Black Collection: Pearl White (White) ● 1 piece ● Crease-resistant Easy-care Thermal Opaque & strong blackout

Are hooks or rings included with the curtains?

Hooks and rings are not included with the multi function curtain tape. These must be ordered separately from another supplier.

Can I also order curtain poles from you?

Curtain poles and other accessories must be ordered from another supplier.

How thick should the curtain rod be for eyelet curtains?

The inside diameter of our eyelets is 40mm. This means that a wide range of curtain rod thicknesses will fit. The diameter of standard curtain rods is often between 16mm and 28mm and all of these diameters will fit. Please note that the larger the diameter of the rod, the less the eyelet can tilt when the curtain is moved. Very large diameters will therefore require more material to cover an area than smaller diameters. We therefore recommend that you choose rods no larger than 30mm in diameter.

How many curtains will I get if I order a quantity of 1?

You will receive one curtain/scarf. The quantity selected is the exact number of curtains you will receive. If you want two curtains for one window, please enter "2" in the quantity field.

What is the density (g/m2)? I would like to order the thickest curtains, but I can't see any information on the product.

The Century Black fabric weighs 250 g/m2 (tolerance = +/- 5%) and is therefore quite heavy.

Is the fabric thick enough to be used as a windbreak?

Yes, at approximately 250 g/m2 the fabric is heavy enough to be used as a windbreak. However, make sure you order the fabric long enough to lie on the ground and keep out draughts.

Does the fabric absorb sound and noise from outside?

Yes, absolutely. The fabric is nice and thick and absorbs noise from outside, improving the acoustics in the room and significantly reducing reverberation, noise and echo in the room.

Can they be hung outside? On a terrace/canopy?

If the curtains are protected from the weather and don't get wet in the rain, they can be hung outside. The fabric is polyester and does not absorb moisture from the air like cotton.

How do I measure correctly?

All measurements refer to the stretched fabric. For example, if you want to cover a 100 cm wide window with a curtain scarf, it should be 180-200 cm wide so that it falls in beautiful waves.

How many curtains do I need to get a total width of 280cm?

It looks best if you have an even number of curtains hanging from the window. So 2 or 4 or 6 etc., because then you have the same amount of fabric hanging to the left and right of the window when the curtain is open. To cover a width of 280 cm and get nice, even waves, you should use about 540-560 cm of fabric (= 280 cm x 2 with a border of about 20 cm). Now divide this 540 cm by the number of curtains you want and you have the width of the curtain. For 2 curtains this would be approx. 270 cm per curtain (= 540 cm / 2) and for 4 curtains approx. 135 cm per curtain (= 540 cm / 4).

Can I wash the curtain?

Yes, the curtain can be machine or hand washed. Please use a mild detergent without brightener/bleach and a maximum water temperature of 30°C. The eyelets are made of rustproof metal and can also be washed.

Can I put the curtain in the washing machine?

Yes, the curtain can be machine washed on a delicate wash cycle using a maximum water temperature of 30°C and a low spin speed. Please ensure that the curtain is washed separately. The drum should only be half full. The eyelets are made of stainless metal and can be washed with the curtain.

Can the curtain be tumble dried?

No, the curtain should not be tumble dried. It should be hung up damp to dry without creasing.

Does the curtain look the same at the back as it does at the front?

Yes, the fabric looks the same on both sides.

Does the curtain have the same colour at the front and back?

Yes, the colour is the same on the front and back.

I am planning a curtain to keep out the cold or a vestibule for an entrance, passage or corridor. What should I bear in mind?

You should ensure that the curtain is the correct width and height and that the correct number of panels are used. For curtains with eyelets you should allow at least 30% extra width, i.e. 130 cm for a 100 cm wide aisle. For curtains with our multi-functional tunnel tape, you can allow for slightly less material, as these curtains can be stretched more than the eyelet curtains hanging on a curtain rail. When choosing the height, remember that the curtain should rest on the floor to prevent cold air from creating an uncomfortable draught. For a passage or corridor, it is a good idea to use two curtain panels that you can walk through in the middle. This is much more convenient than using a single curtain that has to be constantly opened and closed. For a passage 100 cm wide, this would be two curtains with eyelets, each at least 65 cm wide (= 100 cm + 30% = 130 cm / 2 curtains = 65 cm per curtain).
